Grand Axminster Wool Floral Carpet

Exquisite vintage Axminster pure wool carpet dating to the 1930's.  This beautiful carpet has the perfect air of "faded grandeur" often referred to in "vintage" interior books.  It is a large size measuring 9 by 11.6 feet (108 by 140 inches).

The colours are magnificent and very much inspired by a garden with the green background and the plethora of sumptuous roses all around.  The yellow/gold scrolling leaf design adds a stately touch.

The condition is very good though it is not completely without issue, having a stain on one corner (see last photo) and some minor scattered "staining". There are 2 small marks, one of which can just be seen in the photos (approx 1 inch across).

The carpet has been washed but a stain treatment would work wonders on freshening it just that bit further. There are no worn areas.
